What?

Well, the two champions Sean Sherk and Andreson Silva held their respective titles…. Sherk had a good battle but Franca just couldn’t go 5 rounds.

Ortiz and Evans fought to a draw as Ortiz got a point taken away for holding the cage…. and he would have won had he not held the cage. Maybe he’s too use to holding large fake object he forgot to let go….

The real fight of the night was Antonio Rodrigo ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira and Heath Herring, ‘The Texas Crazy Horse’s fight. The Crazy Horse almost knocked Minotauro out with a kick to head in the last 20 seconds of round one. Minotauro was able to survive and took the last two rounds to win the match…. Great fight!

Boxing:   Cotto TKO’ed Oktay in the 11th round.  And in Oktay’s defense his corner threw in the towel.  Although, you think they might have thrown in the towel during the fight where he broke his jaw.  Thus not leaving me with false hope.   but whatev….

UFC:  The Uprising.

Personally, I think they should have called this ‘The Comeback’.  Or ‘The we use to be champs but lost’  or something to that effect.    Either way, the ex-champs ended up winning their fights.

  • Randy Couture wins his 5th belt!   Dominating all five rounds.
  • Rich Franklin wins in 2 rounds.   Setting up a rematch with Anderson Silva
  • Matt Hughes winning all 3 rounds.
