Yesterday I discussed the Western Conference Playoff predictions; today I’ll talk about the teams that will make the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Eastern Conference is a much tighter race near the bottom of the with basically seven teams going for one spot. The Islanders, Rangers, Carolina, Toronto, Montreal, Boston and Florida. Currently the Islanders have 76 points while three teams are tied with 73 points.

So without further ado my quick list

Anson Carter from the Columbus Blue Jackets was traded today to the Carolina Hurricanes for a 5th round pick. Yes, 5th round pick. This makes Anson’s 8th (or 9th) team that’s he’s played on, never a good thing.

Man, that’s gotta hurt being traded for a 5th round pick. It’s basically saying, “You’re just too expensive to even have around anymore.” His 10 goals for 2.5 Million I guess just didn’t cut it. From the Hurricanes point of view they get a player, basically for free, who can add depth for another run at the playoffs. But it’s tough to tell who won that trade.
