Thrashers Skip Game, Sabres Finally Win

The Buffalo Sabres snapped a 10-game losing streak last night with a 10-1 victory in Atlanta. Surprisingly, even thought the Thrashers failed to take the ice (I hear the team bus was stuck in traffic somewhere) Buffalo managed to blow the shutout. At least they got the ‘W’ though. Now if only they can find […]

Hotlanta Hockey Routed by Rangers

Well, it looks like the New York Rangers finally found someone they can beat in the playoffs. The Blueshirts put down the Thrashers tonight 4-2 to complete a sweep of Atlanta in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Rangers first series victory since 1997.
I sure hope all those New Yawk hockey fans […]

Wednesday - looks like

This weeks “looks like” is a bit different then normal. I had a couple of ideas but after last nights Thrashing (pun intended) of the Atlanta Thrashers by the New York Rangers I thought i’d post this one.
Without further ado. This weeks look a like is the Atlanta Trashers ( […]

NHL playoffs - day 2

Some great games last night as the Wings, Sabres, Rangers (yes, Rangers) and Devils all won.

Her picks this year are the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, Atlanta Thrashers and Pittsburgh Penguins […]

Snarks On Ice: Your NHL Playoff Preview

Oh I know, you hardly took notice that the NHL regular season came to an end yesterday, but there’s no need for you to be ashamed or anything. With NBC’s spotty coverage and Versus being the cable equivalent of a low-powered community-college UHF station, it’s easy to overlook hockey sometimes, even though it is […]

Eastern Conference NHL Predictions

Today is exactly a month (less a day) till the NHL Playoffs. Yesterday I discussed the Western Conference Playoff predictions; today I’ll talk about the teams that will make the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The Eastern Conference is a much tighter race near the bottom of the with basically seven teams going for one spot. […]

Trading deadline busy

Unlike the NBA’s trading deadline the NHL’s trading deadline was busy with a capital B. As usual teams are trading players who are in the last year of a contract. While teams are picking these players up usually for a draft pick, or two, or in Keith Tkachuk’s case umm, lots of […]

Long live the hype

As is usually the case when a brawl ensued in the last game. The next game between the two hockey teams rarely lives up to the hype. Although, this game had lots of hitting and goal scoring what everyone came to watch only happened once when McGratton fought Peters. Either […]
