Sam Mitchell – Worst to Best

Today Sam Mitchell, the Toronto Raptors coach, was voted best NBA coach (coach of the year).   Interestingly enough, March 8th, 2006 Sam Mitchell was voted worst, yes, worst coach of the year by Sports Illustrated.   His reponse, “You ask the few players that have played for me and I’m sure they would beg to differ.”

To expand what Mitchell said, “It seems like the writers and Broadcasters would like to differ.”

What’s changed since last year?    Well, first of all the Raptors are winning this year.   Second, only 248 players took the first vote.   How many players from the 248 has he really coached?   Not many.   And how many of those 248 players can touch their toes?   Not many.   The point is he’s a good coach and now he has to carry around a trophy too.  Seems like being a good coach was enough work to me.
