Fan passion and loyalty is all well and good, but is it appropriate to boo a 14-year-old girl? If you’re a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, the answer is yes if she is wearing a New England Patriots jersey.
At the start of the fourth quarter during the Colts-Chargers divisional playoff game, CBS introduced the winners of the regional Punt, Pass & Kick competition. Most of the kids draw some polite applause from the few fans paying attention, but when they got to a teenage girl wearing her Pats jersey, the Hoosiers at the RCA Dome turned ugly and booed the poor kid.
Luckily, she seemed to take it in stride and chucked. I’m sure she gets the same reaction anywhere outside the Northeast.
