Putting the “Spectator” in Spectator Sports

Jesse Boulerice Suspended
Some people will look at the video of Jesse Boulerice high-sticking Ryan Kesler and say it’s evidence the NHL needs to crack down on violence. I say it’s evidence the NHL needs to stop signing criminals to play on pro teams. Playing in the Ontario League, Boulerice got himself suspended for a year for swinging his stick, so is anyone really surprised by this? A 25-game suspension seems a little short to me, though.
