Shut out in the first half by Auburn, the Florida Gators battled back to score two touchdowns in the final quarter to tie the game at 17. But the Tigers got the last crack at the ball and drove 35 yards in 10 plays to the Gators 26-yard line and Wes Byrum booted a 43-yard game winning field goal with time expiring.
Oh wait, no he didn’t. Because Florida coach Urban Meyer called a time out just before the snap so now Auburn has to line up all over again. Would the icing attempt work? No it didn’t. Byrum’s kick was true a second time and the Gators become the fifth top 10 team to go down in flames this weekend.
