Hot athletes are good

I’m not a regular reader of the LA Daily News but I’ll hazard a guess that it’s motto is “All the news that’s obvious to print.”

Jill Painter today pens a column in defense of smoking hot athletes such as Amanda Beard, Maria Sharapova, and Natalie Gulbis, saying, “There’s not a reason in the world to feel guilty about looking at attractive athletes and admiring their beauty and fitness in addition to their sports accomplishments.”

Well thanks for granting us that permission, Ms. Painter. I look forward to your future columns telling us it’s okay to think puppies and kitties are cute, that it’s fine to enjoy good food, and that we should not feel ashamed to admit that we really like watching football all weekend long.

Thank goodness for the LA Daily News and Amanda Beard.

Update: This is what I get for not being terribly observant of my surroundings. Apparently Ms. Painter’s column is part of point-counter point thing with fellow columnist Tom Hoffarth, who writes that objectifying attractive athletes enjoying fine art is wrong. What killjoy! Ms. Painter, ignore the attempt at humor above because we are behind you all the way in your campaign to spread racy pictorials fine art throughout the land.
