As I understand it, there are quite a few golf fans out there in the world, and I’m okay with that. If you want to spend your Saturday and Sunday afternoons watching Tiger and Mickelson and Sabbatini chase a little ball around, that’s your business; I’ve got football to watch or napping to do. If you want to actually go outside and whack a ball around, that’s fine by me too; personally I don’t need a made-up excuse to drink.
But there are people out there who want to convince me that golf is fun and exciting, and that I really should be paying attention. These are the people that I have a real beef with. For example, Electronic Arts and its Tiger Woods video game. No thanks, I’ll stick with my copy of Yard Work II: Lord of the Rake. It’s just ridiculous.
Now there’s a TV production company that thinks I might be interested in a reality show based on golf. WGL Entertainment announced today they are starting production on a show called Hot Days & Hot Nights that pairs “the hottest young LPGA stars” with eligible bachelors for days of golfing and nights of swinging Las Vegas parties. From their press release:
“The allure of Las Vegas and its party scene, combined with LPGA stars and hunky bachelors will draw millions of viewers each week.”
Yes, I’m sure millions of viewers will tune in to see golf dorks ogling some teenagers. Good luck with that.

A wizard of blogging and sports the likes of which you've never seen. Or, you know, some dude talking out is butt about sports.
