Buffalo Is Winning Because They Have To
The Buffalo Sabres are off to their best start in franchise history, opening the season with nine straight wins. Now Lindy Ruff is a great coach, and it doesn’t hurt that Chris Drury has scored 10 goals in those nine games. But I think the real reason behind the Sabres quick start is that ugly-assed new logo.
Can you think of a better way to motivate a hockey team than to make them wear sweaters with a butt-ugly logo? They either win or the rest of the league just stands around pointing and laughing. And no one wants to pointed and laughed at, believe me. (Why do you think we try so hard here at oddsnark?)
The power of the Swooshalo will not be denied.
