Chunichi Dragons Win Pennant, Has Kick Ass Mascots

While you were all wrapped up in your American baseball playoffs, in Japan the Chunichi Dragons won the Central League pennant with a 9-3 win over the Yomiuri Giants in 12 innings. The best thing about the Dragons, though, is that they have two mascots, Doara (a play on koala) and Golden Doara, that kick the ass of any American baseball mascot. Don’t believe me? The Dragons will play the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters in the Japan Series starting October 21. The Fighters won their first Pacific League pennant in 25 years with a 1-0 win over the Softbank Fukuoka Hawks yesterday, or today, or whenever Friday was in Japan.
