Rate The Mate: Tony Parker and Eva Longoria

Are they or aren’t they? Reports earlier this week claimed that the relationship between San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker and TV actress Eva Longoria was over. Kaput. Done. It seems the leggy star of ABC’s Desperate Housewives dumped her NBA beau after the New York Post — a bastion of journalistic integrity if ever there was one — reported last week that the celebrated point guard has been getting snuzzles from an ex-girlfriend.

And somewhere in the darkness, Mario Lopez squealed with glee.

But now this week, Longoria says only that the celebrity sports duo are going through a “rough patch” in their relationship and reportedly she has jumped a plane to Europe, where Parker is playing in the NBA Europe exhibition tour, to work things out.

And somewhere in a basement, Mario Lopez is quietly weeping.
