Major League Baseball powerhouses and bitter rivals, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals staged a riveting, back-and-forth contest Tuesday night.
With both teams jockeying for postseason positioning, the Royals overcame an early four-run deficit against Pirate ace Kip Wells thanks to a thrilling fourth-inning single by slugger Angel Berroa and a bases-loaded walk to the wily Mark Teahen.
The taut affair also featured 17 walks, three errors, three wild pitches, and two hit batsmen. Oh yeah. And the Royals won, 10-6.
Good seats are still available at Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium for the remainder of this epic series.
