Worthy of the $50 PPV charge? Tough call. Carlos Baldomir would probably say no. Super Judah’s coming off a loss to the journeyman in what was supposed to be a warm-up for Mayweather. But HBO can’t possibly charge for a Mayweather-Baldomir bout, so Zab gets to put another one of his belts on the line and it’ll still be a welterweight title fight.
If you’re a boxing promoter you argue that you’re simply giving the fans the fight they wanted to see all along, and the fact that so many will shell out $50 proves your point. If you’re a human being with any sense of fairness, you say Baldomir got screwed. And then probably call your cable company, because it was the fight you wanted to see all along.

Still not convinced? Remember there will be some decent undercard fights, with Juan Diaz and Jose Cotto mixing it up, along with Jorge Arce and Rosendo Alvarez.
Still think your money would be better spent elsewhere? Fine. Put that $50 in your kid’s college fund. Pay off some debt. Tuck it into a mutual fund. Or bet on boxing. Intertops likes Mayweather to the tune of 4-1.

A wizard of blogging and sports the likes of which you've never seen. Or, you know, some dude talking out is butt about sports.
