No Russians with pituitary disorders, no sir. No former almost-greats with huge names and faded skills, not this weekend. This weekend we get a real fight.

Champions Jeff “Left Hook” Lacy and Joe “The Italian Dragon” Calzaghe will step into the ring in Manchester, England on Saturday for a super middleweight unification bout.

Calzaghe 40-0 (31), the WBO champ, has put his belt on the line 17 times. Lacy’s also undefeated; the IBF champ comes into the fight with a record of 21-0 (17) with 4 successful defenses.

40 wins are 40 wins, but how many great opponents has Calzaghe faced? Lacy’s been on a tear, but this will be the toughest test in his young career. So will the savvy Welshman be able to grind out a win, or will the pride of St. Petersburg, Florida put another notch on that devastating left hand?
