The Fans Might Chant E-R-I-C If They Were Smart Enough To Spell

The New York Jets introduced Eric Mangini as the new head coach today, replacing the recently departed Herm Edwards. However, I can’t for the life of me imagine what could be the appeal of coaching the Jets. I mean, you have to play in a stadium that bears another team’s name, said stadium isn’t even located in the state your team is named for, and every home game that stadium is full of drunk, belligerent, foul-mouthed Long Islanders and Garden Staters. What kind of life is that? Eric, you’re young and you have your whole life in front of you. You might want reconsider and go back to the safe and secure world of Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. A better head coaching job is sure to open up in the near future, say in Green Bay, maybe.
