Sean Taylor Fined for Spitting, Making Wife Beater Look Like the Good Guy

The NFL fined Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor $17,000 today. The fine, the equivalent of Taylor’s playoff game check, was punishment for spitting in the face of Tampa running back and confirmed spousal abuser Michael Pittman.

Pittman swears that he did not once try to run over his wife, son, and babysitter with his Hummer. (The Police beg to differ.) NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said of Taylor’s fine, “It’s bad enough when our players lose control of their emotions on the field like that. But to make Michael Pittman look like the agrieved party is most certainly worthy of the fine.”

Pittman’s response, too, was classy all the way, “He spit in my face, no man is going to spit in my face. I have a lot of respect for Sean Taylor, but no respect no more. My initial reaction was, just hit him in the face. He’d be a lot worse if it was on the street.”
