Bjørnar comes from the land of the ice and snow. (Cue Robert Plant: Ahh, ahh, ahh, ahh!) Yes, he’s a Norseman come to pillage the Iditarod Trail Race trophy, and he just might do it. Bjørnar finished in fourth place last year becoming the first rookie to finish The Last Great Race in the top 10 since Harry Sutherland in 1976. I’m sure his moonlighting as a refrigeration mechanic gives him an upper hand here. Also, he’s the nephew of current reigning champion Robert Srlie. There is no stopping this guy. If you read Norweigian, you can find out more about Bjørnar’s preparations for this year’s race on the Team Norway site. If you don’t, you can just look at the photo gallery.
