Meet The Mushers: Lance Mackey

I’m thinking that Lance puts a lot of pressure on himself. You see, both his father and his brother have won the Iditarod, and even though he’s the reigning Yukon Quest champion, Lance has yet to be the first to cross the finish line in Nome at the end of The Last Great Race. Lance is a commercial fisherman who came back to the sport in 2001 and has finished the Iditarod Trail Race three times. His best finish was 7th place last year. He’s also a cancer survivor, like another famous Lance I know. He has lots of photos on his personal Web site.
