Gambling with Johnny: Bowling Bonanza

I hope you degenerates have been doing well without me, as this three-toed man has been busy of late. But now I’m back, with a vengeance, ready to hold your grubby little gambling hands all the way through the entire college bowl season.

That’s right. 28 bowl games, 28 picks. Because I love you, that’s why, and my heart is golden.

Arkansas State was barely the cream of a weak Sun Belt crop, which isn’t saying a whole lot, given the general suckitude of the Sun Belt conference. They best showing of the year was a 20-10 loss to Oklahoma State. They also got smoked by Army. As far as wins, they did beat a pitiful Florida Atlantic team 3-0. (Yes, we’re talking a football score here. Real football. American football. Not the Pele crap.)

It’s hard to get too excited about Southern Miss, as they didn’t post any big wins, but they did hang with Alabama, NC State, and Houston, all in close losses. Conference USA would pretty much beat up and steal the Sun Belt’s milk money, every day of te school weak, so this is pretty much a classic case of two 6-5 teams butting heads, but one of them having faced a much tougher average caliber of opponent throughout the year.

I can’t say I get excited about this line and and hop up and down on my remaining good toes, but I do think Southern Miss easily covers the spread here.
