Ron Artest and Agent Continue Quest to Convince World They’re Crazy Like a Fox

So first we had Crazy-Ass Ron Artest suddenly deciding that he absolutely had to be traded away from Indiana, seemingly out of the blue.

That obviously didn’t sit well with either Pacers’ management or his teammates, most notably Jermaine O’Neal, who has all but offered to pack Artest’s bags and drop him off at the airport.

Now, suddenly, Crazy-Ass Artest has changed his mind again. Mark Stevens, Artest’s agent, told The Associated Press on Saturday that Artest holds out hope he can remain with the Pacers.

“At this moment, we’re not going to put the buggy before the horse,” Stevens said. “We’re waiting to hear from Donnie Walsh, the gentleman and scholar that he is, and hope this can be resolved to where there won’t have to be a trade.”

Gentleman and scholar that he is? Let’s assume that both of those are true about Mr. Walsh. So exactly what about the current situation with Crazy-Ass Artest (and past history) is supposed to appeal to either Walsh’s gentlemanly or scholarly natures?

Artest’s penchant for going absolutely bonkers and beating the shit out of people in the stands? His past request to take a month or so off during the season to promote his rap album? The fact that he loves to smashy-smashy courtside TV cameras? His ability to stab his team in the back twice now and throw two different seasons into disarray?

I know you’re a scholar, Donnie, and don’t need help with the writing on the wall, but it’s spelled SEND-CRAZY-ASS-ARTEST-TO-A-NUNNERY (OR-YOU-KNOW-NEW-YORK-WHERE-ISIAH-CAN-DEAL-WITH-HIS-CRAZY-ASS).
