Poor Eddie Olczyk.

The former player and broadcaster got the boot yesterday after Pittsburgh was shutout by St. Louis, the only team in the league with fewer wins than the Penguins. One little loss and the hoi polloi turn village mob and run the second-year coach out of town. Oh, and I guess there was the 5-0 shutout against Minnesota last week. And and the other seven losses in the last 10 games. But to be fair, though, look at what Eddie has to work with: a bunch of no-talent rookies and some over-the-hill veterans. He can’t work miracles, people. Eddie can only coach, the players have to make plays.

An original oddsnark founding member, but has since fallen by the wayside.
