The Unnecessary Roughness penalty ocurred when the Lions defensive tackle picked up Samkon Gado and used him as a discus while already 5 yards out of bounds. It might not have cost the Lions the game — seeing as how poorly the defense was playing at the time — but it surely put a hefty down payment on that game in the name of Samkon and Brett. Again, just awful.
