Hasselbeck drops back and it’s during the commercial break, so that’s strange. I’m wondering, who the hell has paid Matt Hasselbeck to be on a national TV commercial? The likeliest suspects would be Nike, Gatorade/Powerade, or The Hairclub for Men, I’m guessing.
There’s a close-up of the shoe, but there’s no swoosh or any other identifiable brand. No mention of electrolytes or being not just a member but also the president, either.
Then when the camera pulls back you see that Elisabeth’s brother-in-law is the only one out there. Ahhh, I get it; it’s a metaphor. He’s symbolic. It’s a United Way ad, of course. No one can do it alone, Hasslebeck’s saying. That’s nice.
Congratulations to Seattle’s best QB for breaking the NFL-QB-does-a-United-Way-ad mold. Hasselbeck is very able, developmentally speaking.
