The Provincial Report: Special Pullman, Washington Edition

Because out here in the Provinces, in addition to preferring our bears to be grizzly, our national parks to include snow mobiles, and our salmon to swim up river, we prefer our football to be collegiate. And so, herewith, Washington State Cougars in the NFL and how they did yesterday:

Quarterback Drew Bledsoe didn’t have his best day yesterday against the Giants. 15-39 for 142 yards, with 1 touchdown and two interceptions, and nearly giving a handoff to Giant defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy.

Safety Erik Coleman tied for the Jets lead in tackles with 12 against Tom Brady and his Sportsman of the Year award.

Linebacker James Darling, too, was second on his team in tackles, totalling 9 for the Cardinals against San Francisco.

Cornerback Jason David had 2 tackles of his own in leading Indianapolis to its 12-0 record. (You think leading is too strong a word? Hater.)

Jason Hanson scored 10 of Detroit’s 16 points with 3 field goals and an extra point. While Rian Lindell hit all 3 of his extra points in Buffalo’s 1-point loss to Chris Chambers’ unholy day of receiving.

Rien Long and Lamont Thompson each had 4 tackles as they watched Jason David lead the Colts to their 12-0 record.

Ryan Leaf heard about Peerless Price and le Légion Étrangère and thinks that’s intriguing. He’s totally gonna think about looking into that and doing it. Because, you know, he wants to do something worthwhile now that he’s decided not to play football any longer.

And one Horn because I loves me some Nate Vasher. He had 4 tackles and another interception, this one returned for a 45 yard touchdown. That’s 7 for the year, tied for 2nd in the league and tied for 1st in the NFC.
