
Lori earns the Early Bird Award for being the first musher accepted to run in this year’s Iditarod. Hailing from Willow, Alaska, she is back in the field after two previous runs in 1996 and 1997, after which she retired from the sport. “Once you�ve done it, it won�t leave your blood,� she explains. Sounds like a bad medical condition to me, but we’re glad Lori’s back and taking part in the race. Her sponsors include Settler’s Bay Golf Course/Billy Bomar, Alaska Aircraft Sales, and Mountain House Freeze Dried Foods. By the way, her interests are golf and (surprise) dogs.
