If you’ve ever thought you could best the Alaskan frontier and drive a team of sled dogs across 1,150 miles of snow and ice, you have just two days left to get your application in to enter this year’s Iditarod. Yes, the teams won’t be leaving Anchorage for Nome until March, but the Snark is already gearing up for The Last Great Race. There’s nothing like nine days of exhausting, cross country mushing to keep us glued to the TV. But if you just want a little taste of the real action, you can always bid on a ride as the mushers leave downtown Anchorage on March 4. And be sure to stop back at the Snark for complete Iditarod coverage all winter long.
