Dead Pool Schocker: Mariucci, Not Capers, First to be Fired

In an odd move the Detroit Lions fired head coach Steve Mariucci and “some of his assistants,” reports the AP. Rumored to be getting the ax on Friday, Mariucci survived the weekend — I assume Matt Millen didn’t want to interrupt his terducken and chardonnay coma — only to be served his papers late Monday morning. Defensive coordinator and former Bears head coach Dick Jauron replaced Mariucci.

Not sure who had Mooch next in the Dead Pool, but my pick of Tice isn’t looking near as solid as it once did.
