The AP dropped its preseason college basketball poll today — let the water cooler talk begin. Duke Preseason #1. Yawn. No North Carolina or Kansas. Yeah, yeah. Villanova nabs first place vote. Goody.
Now if I were a sports journalist with a reputable publication, I’d try to avoid making any biased statements or expressing any personal reactions to the ranking. But I’m not a journalist. I’m a blaaahger, worse yet an oddsnark blaaahger, so I can say whatever the hell I want.
So without further ado, PRAISE THE LORD, THE HORNS ARE #2. NEVER THOUGHT I’D LIVE TO SEE THE DAY. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
How long will it last? At the moment I don’t care. Can Texas beat Duke on December 10? Hell, I don’t know, but I can’t wait to see. Now if you’ll excuse me, a have to go crash in the bed, with the vision of a Longhorn championship dancing in my head.
